ROMANOV II: KWPN, 1998, Chestnut, 16.3h,, 168cm
Take advantage of this FIRST opportunity to use brilliant ROMANOV II in North America!
Romanov II has been proving, over many years now, that he is a supreme athlete; capable, energetic, willing and can jump in top form.
This is the first year that Romanov II is commercially available throughout Europe. This stunning blood type horse, has done the job at the top level, winning so many 5* Grand Prix and taking Bertram Allen to the Top 10 in the world rankings. His front leg technique is the envy of many, and his willingness to work is clear. It should be remembered that Romanov had the best results of his life in the last two years of his career! His sire Heartbreaker stands as one of the greats, whilst damsire Fedor is one of the best stallion sons of the phenomenal Darco.
Romanov has bred less than 60 foals in his life, but already he has products in the 1.50m classes, particularly out of Kannan mares. We would advise breeders to use Romanov on heavier taller mares, who need blood type and mental blood, who are perhaps need a little sparkle.
Sire of Romanov II is the KWPN Pref. stallion, Heartbreaker, – declared ‘Preferent” in 2009 because of his successful offspring in the international scene. Heartbreaker himself was successful at Grand Prix level with Peter Geerink and is now placed number 6 on the WBFSH ranking for jumping sires. His influence in worldwide breeding is enormous. In the KWPN studbook, he has already 9 approved sons and 14 approved grandsons. In the international scene, many of his offspring are competing at the highest level. One of the best is Bertram Allen’s Romanov II, who won four Grand Prix’ (Bordeaux, Dortmund, La Baule and Paris) just in 2015.
His dam, Cirkeness, is a pref keur KWPN mare who carries most excellent jumper blood: Darco and Ahorn Z – then on to strong Holsteiner blood in Landgraf I, Roman and further to Loewenjaeger.
