Conthargos’ offspring are successful in international sport with high consistency
In 2008, at the age of four, Conthargos won the Deister Championship in Dobrock with 9.5 and, in 2009, effortlessly qualified for the German Championships. Due to an injury, he could not continue his own career, but his offspring very successfully took it over for him. He has produced ten licensed stallions, including Conthinder/Andrzej Oplatek/POL, who won the Grand Prix in Salzburg/AUT. Also very successful at high level: Conbelleza/Simon Delestre/FRA, Pia Contra/Nicolas Pizarro/MEX, Conbalou/Gert-Jan Bruggink/NED, Conthacco/Schyler Riley/USA, Conblue/Patrick Stühlmeyer, Jolanda/Oliver Lemmer, Coraline/Franz-Josef Dahlmann, Tailormade Chloe Star PS/Sören Pedersen/DEN. Their successes helped Conthargos to get into the top group of the world’s best jumping sires, which was determined by the World Breeding Federation WBFSH.
He is unbeatable. Conthargos’ offspring easily dominate all show-jumping events: Concona/Ben Maher/GBR won the Nations’ Cup in Dublin/IRL, Conthalou became Champion Stallion of the OS licensing, Comtess was Vice Regional Champion of five-year-old Oldenburg show-jumping horses and a colt by Conthargos won the silver and bronze medal at the German Foal Championships.
At the beginning of his career, his sire Converter won 22 show-jumping competitions up to intermediate (M) level with scores up to 9.0. In 2005 he won the Oldenburg regional championships, was placed at the German championships and was second best show-jumping stallion at the World Championships for young horses in Lanaken/BEL. Five of his sons were licensed, including Convertus, who was placed at international competitions. He has produced over 40 descendants who are successful at advanced (S) level and are led by Crüger, team third of the European Championships with Max Haunhorst, Compagnon/Hans Thorben Rüder and Caja/Martin Sterzenbach.
Ridden by Jos Lansink/BEL, the dam’s sire Carthago was the most successful jumper stallion in the world at the time taking part in two Olympics, in Atlanta/USA in 1996 and Sydney/AUS in 2000. His sporting offspring, registered in Germany alone, including Marco Kutschers Cash, Mylord Carthago/Pénélope Leprevost/FRA and Classix Girl/Sören von Rönne, have won over 4.4 million euros in prize money.
