About

Outstanding in scope with an ideal technique, descending from a pedigree of absolute worldwide recognition – that´s how to describe Balou Star in just a few words. His two grandsire Baloubet du Rouet (1st place) and Quick Star (3rd place) are the top WBFSH sires at this time. Both are sons of their common sire Galoubet A, and he even descends from one of The Sire of the Century, ALME Z!

By reason of his movement and his extraordinary jumping ability, this young stallion was licensed by the Hessian Association for special horse breeds and ponies in Alsfeld in March 2008, receiving the maximum possible score of 10,0 for jumping. Quote F. Solle, breeding manager of the Hessian Association: “…and then we had a special highlight in the loose jumping. Caution, overview, skill, reflexes and technique. Balou Star demonstrates almost perfectly how we wish the sequence at the jump out of a fluent, handy gallop.” Balou Star could also assert himself against a strong field of 4-year-old stallions at the 2008 stallion performance test in Erbach, which he left as reserve champion of the riding ponies. At the end of the year, he proved his skills once again. In a field of 42 international top horses, he twice achieved the maximum possible score of 10,0 for jumping manner and ability at the 30-days-test in Schlieckau. The little fighter has a big heart and an enormous canter with large ground cover. Because of this as well as his enormous transmission, Balou Star is suitable for the higher level of show jumping.

Under the junior rider Jaqueline Bührmann Balou Star in the show jumping season 2012 he had excellent results up to M ** and was slowly brought up to the advanced level. On several occasions, the two club tour could set the scene on CSI Bremen and Oldenburg in the Escon Spring.

In the season 2013 Balou Star was ridden by Hans-Dieter Dreher at International Youngster tours, including the International Youngster Cup at the occasion of the 2013 Global Champions Tour in Wiesbaden. There in the final, he won the respectable 8th place as the second best German horse. Then he reached under Angelique Rüsen in Dortmund and Mannheim, and under Hartwig Rohde 1.45 to 1.50 m successes in Rastede and Elmlohe, as well. Because of these sporting achievements Balou Star received the full recognition as a stallion by the Oldenburg International Breeding Association (OS).

Sire: Balou du Rouet was highly placed Federal Championships finalist. He is now successful in international show jumping and was able to present several approved sons. His father Baloubet du Rouet won under Rodrigo Pessoa countless competitions on the greatest championship courses in the world.

Twice (mother and father hand) occurs on the unforgettable Almé son Galoubet A pedigree of Balou Star. The sire of Almé Ibrahim has virtually affected all European warmblood breeds prevail. So comes also the sire Quidam de Revel Almé the line. On all international tournaments and Olympic medals ranks of descendants can be found Almé. The dam line goes back to the 3rd generation on Domino, which represents the successful Hanoverian Schockemoehle-jumping blood.

Dam: Quenada comes from the legendary Quick Star. This designated Meredith Michaels-Beerbaum as the most important horse of their career, as he helped her to international fame. Quote: “He was a phenomenon, an incredibly impressive appearance. He had springs under the hooves. “Quick Star goes back to the Galoubet A Weltvererber Almé. Domino also found in the mother line again.

The special feature in the pedigree of this exceptional stallion Balou Star is thus firmly anchoring ALME Z – Success genes both on the father, as well as on the mother’s side.

The first breeding years already resulted in some prize-winning premium foals. In November 2012 Balou Star’s first son Butterfly Flip was licensed in Pferdestammbuch Weser-Ems. The first Warmblood foals are just leggy with a lot of chic, movement potential, very good jumping technique and best interior. In the same way as their father they literally “search” for the fence, see, eg, the 4 j. mare Mona du Balou. Balou Star is very much used to refine larger and more compact type mares. He makes his progenies in the size of the mares, see 4 j. mare Mona du Balou.

In England Balou Star produced the best 2014 show jumping foal in the country. In Switzerland, he set the eighth best jumping horse foal.

Successes:

Highly successful in the international show jumping arena up to the 1.50 m class.

In the 2013 season Balou Star ranked under Hans-Dieter Dreher in the International Youngster Cup finals at the Global Champions Tour 2013 in Wiesbaden as the second best German horse’s respectable 8th place.

Even in the breeding Balou Star is on a high success course: In England Balou Star produced the best jumping horse foal 2014 and he ranks up there as a stallion way ahead of his own father Balou du Rouet. In Switzerland Balou Star placed the 8th best jumping horse foal 2014. Again, he is ranked as a stallion before his own sire.
