Outstanding in scope with an ideal technique, descending from a pedigree of absolute worldwide recognition – that´s how to describe Balou Star in just a few words. His two grandsire Baloubet du Rouet (1st place) and Quick Star (3rd place) are the top WBFSH sires at this time. Both are sons of their common sire Galoubet A, and he even descends from one of The Sire of the Century, ALME Z!
By reason of his movement and his extraordinary jumping ability, this young stallion was licensed by the Hessian Association for special horse breeds and ponies in Alsfeld in March 2008, receiving the maximum possible score of 10,0 for jumping. Quote F. Solle, breeding manager of the Hessian Association: “…and then we had a special highlight in the loose jumping. Caution, overview, skill, reflexes and technique. Balou Star demonstrates almost perfectly how we wish the sequence at the jump out of a fluent, handy gallop.” Balou Star could also assert himself against a strong field of 4-year-old stallions at the 2008 stallion performance test in Erbach, which he left as reserve champion of the riding ponies. At the end of the year, he proved his skills once again. In a field of 42 international top horses, he twice achieved the maximum possible score of 10,0 for jumping manner and ability at the 30-days-test in Schlieckau. The little fighter has a big heart and an enormous canter with large ground cover. Because of this as well as his enormous transmission, Balou Star is suitable for the higher level of show jumping.

The first breeding years already resulted in some prize-winning premium foals. In November 2012 Balou Star’s first son Butterfly Flip was licensed in Pferdestammbuch Weser-Ems. The first Warmblood foals are just leggy with a lot of chic, movement potential, very good jumping technique and best interior. In the same way as their father they literally “search” for the fence, see, eg, the 4 j. mare Mona du Balou. Balou Star is very much used to refine larger and more compact type mares. He makes his progenies in the size of the mares, see 4 j. mare Mona du Balou.
